Cloud9 IDE, a Complete Coding Environment in the Cloud

Cloud9 IDE is pushing the envelope of what we devs can expect from our code environment. With a heavy JavaScript and Node.js slant, Cloud9 runs in any modern browser and integrates with git/github and also offers a streamlined approach to deployment. I’ll be attempting to use it on my personal projects. What I’ve seen so far, I dig. Check out Cloud9 here.

  1. So what are your thoughts thus far?

With such a JavaScript-centric slant, I have found Cloud9 insufficient for my recent personal projects, which have tended towards WordPress/PHP. However, with recent enhancements such as code completion, real time collaboration, and offline editing mode, it sounds like the tool is becoming more robust. The next time I find myself dreaming in pure JS I’ll be sure to take Cloud9 for another spin.
